The Surgeon
Mr Jon Evans BSc (Hons), MB ChB, MSc, MD (Res), FRCS (Tr & Orth)
Mr Jon Evans is an Academic Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedics surgeon working at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre, Exeter UK. Jon studied medicine at Bristol University where he was awarded a Health Foundation scholarship. After foundation training, he worked as an anatomy demonstrator before commencing his surgical training in the Peninsula.
In 2015 he completed an MSc in sports medicine at Bath University, and in 2017 he was awarded a DePuy Research Fellowship and NIHR PenCLARHC Research Fellowship to undertake a research MD assessing interventional treatments and outcome measurement in elbow tendinopathy.
He has been awarded the British Elbow and Shoulder Societies Lipman-Kessel research award in 2015, the Ian Kelly Prize in 2022, the Paul Calvert prize in 2023 and collaborated on the AHP prize in 2022. In 2019, he was awarded the SW Peninsulas first NIHR Clinical Lectureship in Trauma and Orthopaedics.
In 2023 he completed his upper limb fellowship under the tutorledge of Prof Greg Bain in Adelaide, Australia. He has published over 50 journal articles and has been an an invited speaker at the Nice international shoulder course and European Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and gave the keynote lecture at the 2017 Dutch Orthopaedic Society.
